Purpose
ITIL® (Version 5) Managing Professional Transition is a dedicated transition course for experienced ITIL® professionals who want to update their knowledge and competencies to the latest version of ITIL®.
The course provides an efficient upgrade path if you already have extensive ITIL® experience and want to build on your existing certification without completing every Version 5 module individually. You will gain an overview of the most important changes and new perspectives introduced in ITIL® (Version 5) and explore how modern organisations design, deliver, manage and improve digital products and services.
During the course, you will gain insight into topics including the product and service lifecycle, value chain activities, experience management, transformation, governance and AI-enabled service management. You will also learn how ITIL® complements other frameworks and approaches such as DevOps and PRINCE2®.

Course Content
The course provides a comprehensive introduction to the key elements of ITIL® (Version 5) Managing Professional Transition.
Core ITIL Concepts and Models
You will work with the core concepts, principles and models of ITIL® (Version 5), including the product and service lifecycle, governance, service relationships and, of course, the four dimensions of product and service management.
Digital Products and Services
The course explores how digital products and services create value and how they are developed, delivered, managed and continually improved within modern organisations.
Product and Service Lifecycle
You will gain insight into activities such as discover, design, acquire, build, transition, operate, deliver and support, and understand how these activities are connected within a unified lifecycle for all products and services.
Value Chain Activities
ITIL® (Version 5) introduces a significantly enhanced Value Chain, and the course focuses on how value chain activities connect teams, processes, technology and business outcomes.
Experience Management
You will learn how user, customer and stakeholder experiences influence value creation and how experience management can be integrated into the design, delivery and continual improvement of digital services.
Transformation and Governance
The course introduces key concepts in transformation, governance and organisational change, demonstrating how ITIL® supports long-term business objectives.
ITIL® and AI
You will gain insight into how AI and automation are transforming modern service management and how AI can support product management, service management, experience management and transformation.
ITIL® with Other Frameworks
The course demonstrates how ITIL® can be used alongside frameworks such as DevOps and PRINCE2® when working with digital products, services, governance and continual improvement.

- ITIL 4 Master: Upgraded to ITIL® (Version 5) Master.
- ITIL 4 Managing Professional, ITIL v3 Expert or ITIL v3 Master: Upgraded to ITIL® (Version 5) Managing Professional and awarded the ITIL® (Version 5) Transformation certification.

Course materials are included in the course fee and will be made available well in advance of the course.
The materials are provided electronically, so you must bring your own laptop.
Examination
You will receive exam vouchers, allowing you to schedule your own exams. Both exams are delivered online as remotely proctored examinations (read more here >>).
To become certified, you must pass two examinations. The exams may be booked separately and completed in any order during the validity period of the exam voucher.
- ITIL® (Version 5) Transformation
This examination consists of 40 multiple-choice questions, has a duration of 90 minutes and requires a minimum score of 70% to pass. - ITIL® (Version 5) Managing Professional Transition
This examination consists of 60 multiple-choice questions, has a duration of 120 minutes and requires a minimum score of 70% to pass.
Both examinations are conducted in English.
